What is House of Hope?
Thank you for dropping by! Bahay ng Pag-Asa (House of Hope) is a Children’s Home and Outreach Centre in Santiago City, Philippines. Founded and run by Nickie Kenning, a volunteer Missionary who has dedicated her life to relieve suffering and poverty.
House of Hope was founded in 1995 when, whilst on holiday in the Philippines, Nickie discovered multiple cases of child abuse. Unable to stand by and allow the abuse to continue, she took it upon herself to rescue the children and bring the perpetrator to justice. It took several years to obtain a conviction but eventually justice was served and the children were safe! The Mission became a registered UK Charity in 2004.
About Our Mission
What The Mission Does
Bahay ng Pag-asa means Hope of Hope in Filippino. Our Mission is to provide housing, education and medical support to orphans in and around the area of Santiago City, Isabela in the Philippines, and to give medical assistance and general support to anyone identified as being in desperate need. Since it’s foundation, the mission has established an education scholarship programme which has seen numerous children progress from kindergarten right through to university graduates.
Helping To Save Lives
We have provided much needed assistance to hundreds of children and indigent people, and several lives have literally been saved because of our continued presence in the area. Over the years, we have managed to establish good relationships with several doctors, surgeons, nurses, lawyers and other professionals who give their time, talents and even vehicles, freely to assist in our mission. We are eternally grateful to each and every person who has helped Bahay ng Pag-asa become the Charity we see today.
How You Can Help
- COME & SING
Twice a year, we come together with fellow singers to hold a choral event at a local church. Almost 60 singers took part in our last Come & Sing. The event raised a fantastic £1200. If you haven’t had a chance to join us for a Come & Sing event, fear not…there is always another one on the way!
